Mindfulness has been practised for over 1000 years in the East, but it is only in the last few decades that its popularity has grown in the West, as it has become recognised as a very successful therapy for many modern day conditions we suffer from including anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia and many forms of chronic pain and suffering.

Mindfulness is a practical way of changing your life for the better. Mindfulness works on the principle of bringing more awareness to your daily experience of living which enables us to see more clearly how we make ourselves suffer unnecessarily and gives us the opportunity to learn how to reduce this suffering. Practising mindfulness can bring more happiness, a resilience to life’s difficulties, a new scene of freedom and kindness into our lives.
To benefit from mindfulness you will need to learn the techniques which can be done best when working with a supportive and qualified teacher, you will also need to practise regularly but it is very worthwhile and once learnt these skills and knowledge will stay with you for life. Mindfulness can often be life changing.
However you don’t need to be suffering greatly to begin to practice mindfulness, mindfulness can surprise many by bringing a raft of life enhancing benefits to enrich an already happy life.
