I recently did the Breathworks Mindfulness for stress course over 8 weeks. The course been invaluable and has provided me with a set of tools to help enrich my life and to get me through a particularly difficult time. I didn’t realise the amazing benefits of meditation before this course and how spending even just a few minutes a day practising, really does work to calm the mind in the hectic lifestyles we lead. If you are sceptical and have never tried it, I really recommend giving it a go! I also highly recommend Sue as a teacher of mindfulness. Her love and enthusiasm for her subject is infectious.

I have learnt so much during my time with Sue on the Breathworks Mindfulness for Health course – a course my GP advised me to attend, after other treatments had failed to help my lower back problems.

Sue has guided me through the course with knowledge and compassion. She has taught me about meditation; about breathing; about living in the moment; about silencing my inner critic; about acceptance and about appreciating nature, friendship and life with renewed vigour.

Sue supported me through my return to work – after a long absence. Sue is warm and wise and a wonderful teacher. Although I have officially completed the course, I will be returning for ‘top-up’ sessions. I cannot recommend this course highly enough, especially with Sue as the teacher.

Sue’s course has been instrumental in helping me to get back on track with my mindful meditation practice. I read Jon Kabat- Zinn’s book ‘Full Catastrophe Living’ many years ago and benefited greatly from following his course but I needed a reboot as I had let it slip.

Sue’s eight week mindfulness for stress course was a whole lot more helpful because I learned as part a group and not just on my own with a book. Sue set up a warm, kindly atmosphere in which I faced my own challenges but with the support of other members of the group. Simply having made the commitment to turn up each week is the first step, but doing it together meant I kept it up.

A new concept and challenge is set out clearly by Sue each week which is practised together in class and then throughout each week . I developed greater understanding and integrated mindfulness into my everyday life.

The course has given me some very useful tools to help me be present in my own life and to choose how to live it. It’s as if I have started to open the curtains and experience my life as it actually happens rather than sitting in a darkened room watching a film of my own making. The techniques taught by Sue are simple but they are not easy. They are not a quick fix; the course is the beginning; but it motivated me to carry on afterwards and make it a part of my daily routine. It has helped me to focus on the good things in my life, to keep my gremlins at bay and find a calmer version of myself.
